Guy’s Amazon song

Sep 15, 2008

Good evening. In just over an hour, BBC2 here in the UK will run the first part of its major new TV series, Amazon. The show will follow presenter Bruce Parry as he travels the length of the Amazon, from its source to the sea. For more info, click here.

The music which will soundtrack the end credits is a song called Ferreting, which was recorded by a new band formed especially for the project, Apparatjik. That group features Magne F from A-ha,  Jonas Bjerre from Mew and Coldplay’s very own Guy Berryman.

Ferreting is also the opening track on the fundraising album which accompanies the series, Amazon Tribe – Songs For Survival. You can hear a clip from it at the album’s MySpace page, here.

The album is out on October 6th, but you can already pre-order it from HMV, Play and, of course, Amazon. Or, if you’re in the UK, you can download any of the tracks (including Ferreting) from iTunes now.
