Q.  I'm sorry that this question is neither interesting or bizzare, but it is important! - when will Coldplay be touring again, or playing a UK venue other than a Students Union?

I can only assume that you only read the News section (& mine - thank you) but we do also have a live section with all current show dates. You'll see that yes they are going to be touring again and yes they are playing other UK venues. This is what they call the first European leg of the tour.

Q.  Oracle, please can you confirm if Coldplay is really coming to South Africa. Quite a few people are talking about Coldplay coming to SA but on the website there is no information. We would be super excited if this is really true. We love Coldplay. The Rainbow nation is ready for them, maybe they can meet Mandela who knows!!

How excited are the fans in S.A today? Anchorman announced dates this morning. It's the first time the band have ever played there so it's pretty exciting for us too!

Q.  Hi Oracle! Can you believe it's been a year since the Viva La Vida Tour started? I'm so sad right now, but at the same time it was one of the best days of my life!

Eh? Gabriela it's almost a year since the Viva tour FINISHED, not started. The tour made it to your part of the world quite a while after their Wembley finale in September 2009. The Latin America tour started at the end of February 2010 but the whole Viva campaign tour started back in June 2008!

Q.  Olaa gran y poderoso Oraculo!
Well maybe this is a stupid question but I can't remember when and where was the first show of the Viva la Vida tour so can you tell me?
Thanks and sorry for my bad English.
Atentamente Luis

It's not a stupid question at all; it was a long time ago! Even though I know when and where it was, I still feel the need to account for the live shows preceding the tour.
On June 13 2008 the band performed for friends & family at Wembley. This was followed by free/TV shows on 16th in Brixton, 17th Barcelona, 18th BBC Television Centre, 19th Paris and 23rd & 27th New York.
The first live date of the tour proper was July 14th at The Forum, Los Angeles.

Q.  Dear Oracle,
Will there be a live photoblog on Latin American tour?
thank you!

There won't be a live photoblog but there will be photos and news from the tour. Keep an eye on our Anchorman over the next few days as he will be telling you something else that you may find interesting...

Q.  Beloved and praised Oracle...
I have 3 questions that if you answer them, you help me sleep better lol.

Would you tell me what in earth was in their mind naming the band Pectoralz when starting?

Also... do you know if they have considered singing with in a duet with someone that sings in Spanish? and who would that be?

Last... will Coldplay come to Mexico this year?

Enjoy your bizarreness.

The Pectoralz name came from the pectoral chest muscle and is a joke name for a boy band they created. It was never a name consideration for the 'real' band, it was all meant to be in jest.

Technically Chris has duetted with someone that sings in Spanish; Nelly Furtado! Chris wouldn't sing in Spanish himself though as he isn't fluent.

Until we confirm anything on this website I cannot comment on show rumours, sorry!

By the way folks, I'm taking an Easter break and will be back here Tuesday 14th April.

Q.  Hi, so I have 2 questions.
1. Why the song 1.36 has that name?
2. Who is the person who in charge of Coldplay's tour?
thank you :)

1.36 gets its name from the original length of the song.
Coldplay have a tour manager, Fransky, who is in charge of the tour but I suspect you mean the booking of? They have booking agents who alongside management organize the schedule and that includes where they will play. Franksy then has to plan the whole travel itinerary.

Q.  I've been thinking, since the viva tour is over, does it mean that there isn't going to be any more of Roadie #42? Or will there be a new one to the next tour?

Who said the tour is over? It's a lie! Roadie #42 will return when the band go back out on the road which isn't that long off.
