Q.  Hello Oracle!
I know that Coldplay has gotten a lot more narrow in their selection of tour spots, but do you think there is a chance that the band could ever come to Houston? If not, so be it, That's life. But I figured if anyone knew you would! Thanks!

You have to understand, the Ghost Stories tour is not to be compared with tours gone by or any future plans; it was unique to that period. There's more than a good chance as historically since 2003, the band have played Houston many times so there is no reason they won't again. I'm not taking bets or placing odds on where the band will tour though because it's way too soon to speculate.

Q.  I heard rumors of Coldplay going back into the studio and recording another album, instead of touring for Ghost Stories. is this true?

It's not "instead of". The plan was always to do a very small tour of Ghost Stories, which they did. They visited a very few number places at intimate venues.
They returned to the studio soon after which was also the plan.

Q.  Dear Oracle, Is Coldplay coming back to New York? Anytime they have had a concert in recent years it always seems to be somewhere in the UK. Are they coming back to the Us, and more specifically NYC anytime soon?

That's not true, Amanda. If by recent years you mean the 2014 dates, they have performed in NYC (& L.A) more than anywhere else! The only UK dates for the Ghost Stories release were the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Glasgow and 2 nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The last tour certainly covered America.

Q.  Hi Oracle !

I was at the Royal Albert Hall on July 1 and saw some of the concert setlist on the table next to you! I tried to come and ask you a set list but you left at that time. Have you still setlist?

Thanks you!

I think you must have mistaken my identity for someone else because I wasn't sat near a table. I did have a setlist with me though...

Q.  Does Coldplay have a tour bus?

No. They used to travel by tour bus but now it's mostly cars and planes with an occasional train. The last time I was on a bus with the band was the short journey from the airport terminal to the plane. Before that it was when a group of us went on an away day (paintballing) - we all got a coach there.

Q.  Hello O,
Mabuhay!
Just curious, during tours or in between recordings, do our boys hang out in a single room and watch a particular TV show or something?
What are they collectively interested in other than the music they create together?

If it's a TV/radio appearance or awards show type set up, there's a green room where the guys will chill out beforehand. Here they may read, chat, listen to music, watch a film, play video games (solo or against each other), make phone calls or whatever.
When they're on tour, it's a much bigger operation. There are several rooms for band personnel, family & friends plus the band have one large dressing room and warm up room(s).
They may also go and kick a ball about, go for a run or visit catering.

Q.  Dear Oracle,

Ghost Stories is out now for over two months. That isn't very long, but though I have a question about the next album:

Chronologically, there is the year of the album, and in that same year and the year after that there is the tour. After the tour the band takes a year/half a year of rest and then starts recording. This all takes 3 years (or 2 between Parachutes an AROBTTH).
But now there is no tour. Does this mean we can expect the next album in 2016 instead of 2017? I'd love to know that, if possible.

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Isabelle

I can see why people are working out what has gone before but in this case it doesn't necessarily give an indication of what will follow.
At this stage I obviously can't comment but as you see, the Ghost Stories tour and promo was not comparable to previous album campaigns so it would be useless speculating just yet.

Q.  Hi Oracle! This may seem like a silly question but I was wondering, do the guys (and the people who work w/them) need a working permit or Visa for every country they visit outside the EU even if they only go to perform let's say 1 show or to do some promo? If so, is it annoying to have to apply for so many? I was just curious! I hope you pick this question!
Have a nice day!

Everyone on tour requires a visa and/or work permit from the band to backline technicians, crew, management even including anyone operating a confetti canon!

Q.  Dear O,
Now that the scheduled gigs are over, can we say that the Ghost Stories Era is over? Should we wait for the next one or there are still things coming from GS?
Thank You!

Let's not be too hasty, the ASFOS E.P was only out on Sunday! The tour may be over but the era isn't.
