Q.  What happened to the postcards from far away that were sent in by fans?

As you obviously know Edie, fans on Coldplaying.com decided to send postcards to the band from all over the world; one day early in 2009 they were delivered to The bakery where the boys perused the postcards and our very own Roadie #42 was there to capture the whole thing on video.

Q.  Hey Oracle :)
Thank you for answering our questions! I was just wondering what did the boys do with the postcards from the Postcards From Far Away project they got early this year?

Thank you!

They are all safely stored at their Bakery HQ; photos were taken to preserve their memory too.

Q.  Hey,
Postcards From Far Away is written by Chris Martin or Will Champion?

This is a question that has popped up a few times recently. All songs are credited to the whole band but that particular piece is purely a piano composition so the band didn't need to get involved as they do on other tracks; Chris wrote it.

Q.  Dear Oracle,
I was disappointed with your handling of the young man from the UAE's request to send Coldplay a postcard. You suggested it is too late to send a the band a postcard. It certainly is not too late, it's more a question of 1. what's the address 2. will it be promptly thrown in the garbage by the support staff. Anyway, the point is that nothing is impossible. I'm surprised that you'd suggest otherwise...

I tried to email you but it seems you used a false address... I'm afraid you have misunderstood. An address for sending regular mail can be found in our tags on this very Oracle section of the site.
But Yusef asked specifically about a project that ended in December!
That is what I replied to as you can be reminded of below. Sorry for confusion but of course anyone can write to the band although we prefer emails.

Q.  Ok, so, why have I not ever heard of this postcard sending shinagagy?! I would of LOVED to send Coldplay a postcard from my country and I check coldplay.com virtually everyday but I NEVER saw an anouncement or anything saying that you can send postcards to coldplay. Please, please oracle- can we still send them postcards and if so whats there address?

It wasn't anything to do with the band or therefore, Coldplay.com. Fans who gather on the fansite Coldplaying.com's forum arranged it. It was a one-off project called Postcards From far Away (after the Coldplay song of the same name) and the fans also decided how long it would run for; the last posting date was many weeks ago.
No, I'm afraid you can't still send them; as you see from the video, the cards have been delivered.

Q.  Dear Oracle, I know that many fans will ask this question, but given that I am from a country a bit far away and the post is REALLY slow, I just wanna make sure that my postcards made it to the band, and if they did, what the impressions were... Me and my friends sent about 4-5 postcards and one of them, the most authentic one was a picture of the guys as the girls from Sex and The City - with their faces instead of the girls'. The other authentic one has butterflies which say Serbian Reign of Love and Lovers in Serbia... Is there a way that you could at least tell me whether they got there on time? It would mean the world to me... Thanks a lot... Much love from Serbia.

Milan...

Yes those cards definitely did make it. Apparently the Sex and the City card raised some laughs!
We can't confirm we received every one, as there were so many, therefore this is the only question I can answer about it.
