Q.  As a guitarist, I was wondering if Jonny ever did an interview for a specialized guitar magazine, like other famous guitarists do? If he did, can you direct me to it? Also has he ever considered releasing his own signature guitar? :)

Yes, he was interviewed for Guitarist magazine back in October, 2001. We ourselves also published an interview with Jonny in January, 2009. I've never heard mention of a signature guitar. I wouldn't be surprised if he had been asked, but there isn't one out there.

Q.  Why did Chris Martin give a standing ovation to Maroon 5 in the Grammy's while no one stood?? Was Coldplay inspired by Maroon 5 when they were kids??

Coldplay have actually been around longer; Maroon 5 have only been around since 2002 (in that incarnation) so it certainly isn't because of any childhood inspirations - Adam Levine is younger than Chris!
However, at the Grammys Maroon 5 performed with Foster the People (who Chris has said he loves) and The Beach Boys (who the band love) in a medley of Beach Boys songs to celebrate their 50th anniversary, I'd say that's the reason Chris - and Jonny - gave a standing ovation was to congratulate 50 years of The Beach Boys.

Q.  Dear Oracle,
Chris, Will and Guy are all in the list of top tags, but Jonny isn't. Do you think theres a reason that he's mentioned less often than the others?
Love, a huge fan :)

We must rectify this! Now I have my much coveted search box (much better than the tag cloud I reckon), I will be sure to tag Jonny more if you guys ask more Jonny related questions. In fact, I'm tagging this one for starters!

Q.  Hey Oracle! Can you tell me what Chris Martin said about Jonny in this video at 1:16?

Anyway I love this version of In My Place!
Greetings from Italy

That was taken from the Make Trade Fair gig at the Astoria in London back in 2002. Chris said of Jonny "The greatest guitarist since Slash". Hmmm, he's said this before hasn't he? Indeed he has.

Q.  Dearest Oracle,

I'm a bit of a guitar/tech geek. There's a picture of Jonny's pedals on one of the blogs, and it looks like he is using three volume pedals. Why does he use three instead of one?
Thank you!

Luckily for you Blake, Matt McGinn (Jonny's tech and author of Roadie) was on hand to answer this specific question:
"One's a volume pedal, the other two are used as expression pedals for altering parameters on two of Jonny's rack units (TC 2290 & Line 6 Echo Pro). Short answer: THEY MAKE IT MORE ECHOEY!!"

Q.  Dearest Oracle,
I was just watching Coldplay live performances on YouTube when I saw the video of The Scientist live in 29 April 2006. There Chris says "Ladies and Gentlemen Mr Jonathan Buckland age 28 years old my best friend and the best guitar player I ever knew..."
Then what does he say?
Greetings from Dhaka.

What he actually says is: "Ladies and Gentlemen Mr Jonathan Buckland aged 28 years old my best friend and the best guitar player that ever lived... except maybe Slash".

Q.  Dear Oracle,
As a guitarist, I'd love to know what kind of microphone Jonny is using to mic his amp.

Indeed, the Small one is a Shure sm57 and the big one is a Neumann TLM 103.

Q.  Dear Oracle,

why is Jonny called "Jonny Buckley" in Guitar Hero 5?

That's a mistake! Not much the company could do once it was out there but they are aware of it.

Q.  Was Chris Jonny's best man and if so did he do a funny speech?

Actually it was Will...
May I take this opportunity to say many thanks for all your messages of congratulations by the way.

Q.  I noticed that Jonny didn't make it into the helicopter at the end of the LiTii video - does he have a phobia about flying?

There simply wasn't room for the puppet. In fact, you can read more about it here.
