Q.  Hello Oracle,
Is there a Coldplay-song like Halo (Baby, I can feel your halo)?
Love from Iceland
Joanna.

No; Halo is a Beyonce song. There have been occasions where Chris has accompanied Beyonce on piano.
The first time was at the Hope for Haiti charity telethon (January 22, 2010) and again on New Years Eve 2011 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Las Vegas show.

Q.  Hi Oracle!!! I was recently watching Coldplay's performance of A Message 2010 for Hope For Haiti Now and really liked Chris's beanie. Do you know if there is anyway I can get one or at least one similar to the one he is wearing? Thanks!!!

How very spooky. I was just reading something about Hope For Haiti when your question popped up.
I just happen to know that there was a lot of hat action at the Hospital Club studio that day.
The stripey beanie that Chris was wearing for the Hope for Haiti recording may have been bought that very day from either American Apparel or Urban Outfitters. There is also a chance however that it may have been borrowed from Guy.
We can't be 100% certain as it was so busy.
Steve Alan definitely did a similar hat at one time or another but I can't imagine it's going to be that hard to find a striped beanie to be honest.

Q.  Would Coldplay ever do a song with Beyonce?

Chris & Beyonce performed her track Halo together at the Hope for Haiti show. It is quite an emotional rendition of the song I have to say. Other than that it's not likely that the band will do a song with her. Historically they haven't really done a song as a collective for another artist.

Q.  Dear Oracle,
Why is Coldplay's Hope for Haiti performance being called A Message 2010? Instead of A Message?

If you listen carefully there are subtle differences to the lyrics as some were rewritten for the occasion. How You See The World is another example of a song being lyrically changed and renamed How You See The World No.2 for War Child.

Q.  Dear Oracle,

I've been listening to H4HN's A Message 2010. It's wonderful! I love that the whole band is playing strings. Who's the artist playing the violin? I didn't recognize him on the telecast.

Thanks!

It's the same talented guy who collaborated with the band on Viva and Prospekt's March; Davide Rossi.

Q.  What kind of bass was Guy playing at Hope for Haiti? It looks like a Rickenbacker to me but I can't be sure.

You can be sure now because it was indeed a Rickenbacker.

Q.  Hey did Chris burn his arm or something? In the Hope for Haiti now photos with Beyonce, he has two red spots on his arm.

No worries, Chris is fine it's only marker pen!
