Recorded at Parr St Studios, Liverpool, Feb-Mar 2000. Produced by Ken Nelson and Coldplay. Released on June 26, 2000. Highest UK Chart position: 4.

The final recording session for Parachutes was dominated by the feeling of panic. Yellow had already been earmarked as an early summer single and the hope was that the album would be ready for release at around the same time. Any delays in completion would result in its release date being put back to October to co-incide with a third single. This would have been hugely disadvantageous. Everyone suspected that Yellow was a hit and therefore the perfect lead-in single for the album. Noone wanted to see an autumn release.

So the pressure was on. Deadlines were so tight that originally the band had to forfeit travelling to New York to mix Yellow so that they could remain behind in Liverpool finishing off the album. However when the initial mix came back, the band were unimpressed. They insisted on flying out to oversee mixing themselves. This left them even less time to work on the three or four album tracks that still remained unfinished.
