After some good reviews in the press for Brothers & Sisters, healthy support from Radio1 and Xfm, a big London show with Catatonia and finally a record deal, the band were in an understandably confident frame of mind by early summer. After a solid if not spectacular performance on the new bands’ stage at Glastonbury and a handful of UK gigs, the band felt ready to record their first album.

Again the location was London, as the band found a suitably experimental producer in Chris Allison, himself flushed with the critical success of the Beta Band’s debut LP. Recording began in mid-July.
