A month later, the band accepted an offer to record a single for Fierce Panda. Brothers & Sisters, a live favourite, was selected as the A-side with newer songs Easy to Please and Only Superstition in support. Recording was completed in four days with the atmospheric backdrop to the first b-side actually created by setting up mics on the wet road outside the studio. A slightly mutated version of the second b-side is expected to feature on the album under a different name.

Brothers & Sisters caught the attention of Radio 1’s SteveLamacq and, after what seemed at the time massive airplay, crashed into the national charts at No.92. Coldplay had arrived.
